There is developing evidence that fruit and vegetable consumption has an effect on all-cause mortality. In a study of over 6000 people over 6 years, eating more fruits and vegetables (especially in those who consumed 7 servings or more a day) reduces all-cause mortality. (1) The variety of fruits and vegetables takes on an important role in lowering inflammation and decreasing C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations, too. (2)
