Toronto chiropractic care at Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre is well-equipped for the pandemic of low back pain.

THE PANDEMIC OF LOW BACK PAIN

Here’s a pandemic chiropractic is built for: low back pain! A new study in Healthcare journal presents that “Low back pain is a pandemic and costly musculoskeletal condition in the United States.” This study compared the cost-effectiveness of chiropractic and physical therapy for low back pain. Curiously, their up-coming study is set to ascertain if they reduce the use of more costly health services like surgery, injections, and ER visits. For the moment, though, they found that the total average cost was $48.56 less for chiropractic care than PT and the daily adjusted life years was 0.0043 greater for chiropractic than PT patients. They deduced that chiropractic was shown to be a cost-effective means to ease low back pain in adults with at least 3 weeks of low back pain over 6 months. B Vitamins for Diabetic Nerve Pain

Chronic diabetic neuropathic pain is challenging. Inflammation has a role. Spinal proinflammatory cytokines have a part. A recent study using rats showed that B vitamins not only suppress but significantly overpower this pain by suppressing the proinflammatory cytokines. (2) Sadly, vitamin B12 deficiency is very common in type II diabetic patients who are prescribed metformin, a common diabetic drug. (3) Researchers noted links to anemia and neuropathy with metformin use in diabetic patients. (4) Yorkville Chiropractic and Wellness Centre urges our diabetic patients are urged to check their vitamin B levels! B vitamins are quite important for health!
