Correcting Toronto vitamin D deficiency increases the immune system to ward off disease and even depression.

TIP OF THE MONTH: Take Vitamin D

A healthy body relies on a healthy, well-functioning immune system. Vitamin D plays a beneficial role in supporting a health immune system and helps combat challenges to it. Air pollution is a challenge as it can trigger excessive immune responses: infection, cancer, auto-immune conditions. Inhaled air pollution typically lands on respiratory mucosa and affects the respiratory system. (We hear a lot about the respiratory system today.) Vitamin D supplementation is one strategy research suggests may boost the immune system to resist such invasion. (3) Vitamin D is reportedly beneficial to improve and keep clinical depression at bay via its homeostatic, immunomodulatory and neuroprotective roles. (4) Many from government, research and industry around the world recognize that vitamin D deficiency is an extensive problem. All are working to find ways to deal with it and answer the questions “How much vitamin D should I take a day?” and “How best do we ensure everyone gets that?” (5) Let us talk about this at your next chiropractic visit and set a plan to increase your vitamin D level and allow your body to ward off health-compromising challenges.
